Observation details

sparrow sized, on fences; really dark head, dark mottled brown on back with thick but short angled white lines on sides of back (pointing towards tail), light brown streaks on belly, makes short dry whirring call; one had pale orange under belly streaks, other had two blurry black patches down sides of belly; thin white line all the way around neck (on darker one it’s clearer on the nape); dark legs, thin dark beak; wiggling tail a bit
