Observation details

Our team was going to our birding spot and on the way saw a siberian stonechat on a perch. Wishing to record it, we started following it when i disturbed a quail. While flying i noticed its pattern and head shape were different and informed my team mates. We waited on the same spot to see it. When we took some pics it was clearly common quail. It didnt come into the open and was mostly hiding and foraging inside the small shrubs and assorted grass plants. Its call was unique and didnt match rain quail's. Also both male and female were similarly patterned. After checking the calls of various quails, we matched it with common quail, which led me to conclude it as common quail.
