Observation details

Seemingly very large and aggressive gull with very large, mostly dark bill; probably 2nd cycle with very dark wing coverts contrasting with paler mantle and body; fresh black primaries with white tips, black tail. In spread wing, all black outer primaries and paler inner primaries, black secondary bar, blackish under wing coverts. Plumage looked most like some 2nd-cycle Lesser Black-backed Gulls but more uniformly brown body, and large size more like large Am. Herring Gull. Possibly hybrid between these two— Appledore Gull.
