Observation details

One immature and one adult Little Blue Heron were 5 meters apart from each other at 33.7062925, -118.0483723. They were perched in the dead, leafless trees along the northern edge of the pocket ponds. The white immature had dusky wing tips, light, dull greenish legs and a slightly downturned, bi-color bill that was pale gray at base (including lore) and dusky gray towards the tip. The adult is an all dark, deepest blue-gray with a deep purple-claret tinged head and neck. It also has the same bi-color, downturned bill and gray lore as the immature. I had no camera. So I took photos with my iPhone!
