Observation details

***very rare, apparent 2nd state record with only a handful of records in the East. Initially seen foraging on open edge of the upper parking lot, then re-found with a grasshopper sparrow along edge of the main road between lighthouse and restaurant overlook where it stayed until after sunset. A somewhat non-descript sparrow, overall grayish with plain gray face and a bit of a crown, faint white eyering, clean gray underparts with faint streaks on upper breast and flanks, browner back with some darker spots and narrow buffy wing edges, tail longer than grasshopper sparrow.
