Observation details
Vega/Non-American Herring candidate, 1st cycle Things that stood out: 1. Overall pale appearance to upperwing (including the greater coverts and scaps) 2. Rather extensive white tertial tips 3. Pale upper/undertail w/whitish outer retrices and uneven spotting on that outer retrix 4. Streaky-ish head and mottled upper breast 5. Overall pale underparts compared to AHGUs 6. Apparent pseudo-string-of-pearls on the primaries Obviously, this probably isn't 100% IDable and is also probably an American Herring. However, I think further inspection of this bird is warranted.
