NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 7. Bulk reel: 236. 203 tape. I was never able to see the birds of this cut. The recordings are filed here because this is the only "resident" Coccyzus known from this region. Also the voice appears to correspond. a) 2/XI/71. 9:00 AM. Clear. Natural song. Quality: 3. Level: +5. Tape speed: 3 3/4. Low noise. 36" parabola. b) 4/XI/71. 5:20 AM. Cloudy, fair. Several birds heard, both types of song, but Type B only faintly in background except @ ~ 2-52" of 1st part. Quality: 2-3 & 3. Level: +3. Tape speed: 3 3/4. Low noise. All natural song, except @ end (2"-52") is after playback. Quality: 2+. Level: +3. Tape speed: 3 3/4. Low noise. All after playback (birds did not come close). Quality: 1-2. Level: +3. Tape speed: 7.5 low noise & 3 3/4. Low noise. 24" parabola. In background near end is some good song of a "pair" of Crypturellus obsoletus. Habitat: Bay/Harbor.
