Observation details
One male immature or hybrid. Poor photos from cell phone to show color pattern in odd male. It had the black curly butt and white tail of normal mallard, with green stripe along crown and down nape, cheek tan. Flanks were more brown/tan than grey and with less contrast to the back than normal. Breast less richly colored, less distinct. Possible Gadwall hybrid???
