Observation details
Upper tail feathers dark but some white on the tip of the tail. Very little yellow on the bill. There were two birds in a bush next to the sandy pathway but we flushed the one bird and then the second bird as we were quite close before we noticed them. The one bird flew slightly further away however with a heat haze it was very difficult to take any photographs of them. My camera was in the car so was only able to take a cellphone shot which is attached. Another member of the group took a few photographs. There was very little yellow on the bill however you could see the yellow feet. the lower abdoman was striped. The one bird caught a large caterpiller and proceeded to eat it as we tried to edge closer. The bird flew further away so we decided not to move closer as there were other birders with a scope who had arrived and wanted to see the bird. The bird made no calls at all. After observing the bird for a long time we decided that this could be a Juv as it was quite dark in colour. We did not see the second bird again. An additional thought is that there was white on the tips of the tail.
