Observation details
Continuing bird(s). Rail's grunt call was heard first, about 5 minutes after my arrival. At 10:15, it walked out into view at far side of pool, where it was photographed, and observed for about a minute before walking out of view. At about 10:30 or so the same or possibly a second rail was observed for a second or two crossing the narrow channel of water that connects the pool with the roadside ditch...too brief a view to get a photo. Species is a long sought after lifer.
