Observation details

A Ruff and a Reeve were discovered a week prior to this sighting. The facility is only open to the public on Wednesday, so birders were anxious to see whether the birds had stayed. When we finally got up to the pond where they had been seen, we found both birds feeding in shallow water. It was a first state record for me after 22 years of birding in Georgia. Strangely, we have had subsequent records in Chatham, Glynn and Forsyth Counties in Georgia.
