Observation details
Bird was on the Langebaan side of the hide reasonably far out. Scope views were decent, while photographs were challenging given distance and heat haze. Am attaching 6 distant record shots. One of the photographs shows the bird size and colouring relative to a nearby Common Greenshank. In terms of size and other general impressions the bird was reasonably similar to a Marsh Sandpiper. Leg colouring however was clearly and noticeably brighter yellow, even appearing borderline orange, when compared with Marsh Sandpipers in the area showing grey/green dull yellow legs. In terms of overall colouring the bird also presented as a less pale looking bird with more streaking around throat, this being quite different to the more pale and grey look of Marsh Sandpipers.
