Observation details
Jon Ruddy comments: a fun moment during the tour! We arrived at the lighthouse and it really started to snow — a proper squall. We found a 2CY Thayer’s, which was really cool. I happened to glance “out to sea” and saw a dark shorebird flying straight toward us, through the mist of the heavy snow. A Purple! We tracked it down and it posed beautifully on a rock. Coincidentally, an OFO tour was on route to the site and we were able to trade notes; glad the bird stuck around for the big crowd :)
