Observation details

Continuing (since Thursday, great find by Jon Skinner) along runway and grass across from parking lot. Sparrow-shaped bird, maybe 2/3 the size of the larks it was hanging with. Bland face (almost gave a Grasshopper Sparrow impression) with a white eye ring, streaked crown, and auricular border visible at some angles. Streaky back with paler braces. Coverts with pale edges. Chest/belly mottled black. Short tail, two outer feathers mostly/entirely white visible when it flew. Short primaries.
