Observation details

Heard calling and landed atop a conifer and continued to call. Huge gray finch with long tail, conical bill and big wingbars. Female type with yellow-olive on head. Didn't have Merlin ready as usual but finally got a good recording before it flew off in a southerly direction but maybe not too far. Spent the next 2 hours walking to some spots I thought it would like but did not see or hear it again. New bird for Ellison Park! Good audio.
