Observation details

Nine angry magpies located this bird for me. They eventually got bored of mobbing it and the owl retreated from the grass to a spruce tree (with a vole in possession). A young eagle then perched nearby and the owl stared up at it, motionless, for 20 minutes before the eagle moved on.
