Iceland Gull (thayeri) [age: 1st cycle], 1st winter plumage.
Observation details
Chocolate Iceland Gull - thayeri. Identification can be subjective. This one meets my standards for Thayer’s albeit just barely. Slightly too dark for Kumlien’s. Brownish overall, medium brown/dark primaries and tail. Identified based on the darkness/quality of outer primaries and rectrices (tail feathers).
