Observation details

A return to the owl family and like clockwork they began to call 10 minutes after sunset. This time however, it was a brilliant performance from one of the adults, which landed on an open branch, perching for quite some time. The chicks call first, using their high-pitched begging call, then a few minutes later the adult makes a couple deep and quick bark-like calls in response and that is when it appears. As I watched, the adult didn't take much notice of me. I was standing in front of the block of flats and it most likely sees people go past every night, so it provided lots of great photo opportunities before it left to hunt!
