Observation details
Spotted above the dam, off the distant point to the North. I parked at the dam and walked North to the fire trail on the left, leading to the point. Wasn't sure if it was a Snow or Ross's Goose. I called John Lander's to get the word out. Once at the point I got a slightly closer view... was then leaning towards RG... Took a few distant pics. Got to the point and the bird drifted towards the other shore. I left and drove to LR Point... returning about 30 minutes later. Upon arrival all of the geese had drifted further North and out of sight. I relocated them and the RG in the second cove. Rode back to the parking area and picked up Kevin Graff and Susan Nestler. We drove up to the second cove and I double-parked with my flashers on. Looking over the hill, we were able to get very good looks at the bird before the whole group departed South. We drove back to the parking lot and got out and watched the birds flying about.... towards CVP and then back and splitting up into several groups. The Ross's headed NE.
