Observation details
*VERY RARE at this latitude — is currently the northernmost eBird record for this species! Seen at the Swanberg Dredge just outside of town foraging over the boardwalk pond. Plain brown swallow, brown above, off-white below, with dingy throat and upper breast, white undertail coverts visible from above in flight (see photo of dorsal view) and pale bases to flight feathers. Photos. Found by Michelle Sopoliga, along with Dave Sonneborn and Gabi Sutton who called me over to check an unusual brown swallow. No pale rump as in Southern Rough-winged Swallow.
