Observation details
***mega; found earlier this morning by Jon Skinner. 6th state record, 1st for Worcester County and 1st significantly inland record in MA. Moving around the runways and other paved areas with a flock of HOLA. All viewing is through the fence. First spotted just southeast of the parking lot next to some buildings on the other side of the fence. Eventually the flock moved to an area west of the parking lot. Roughly here. This is where it remained when we left. Streaky longspur with obvious dark breast and belly; the darkness was even apparent from a distance. Significantly smaller than surrounding HOLA. Thin pale wing bars, pale eye ring, buffy face. Perhaps most importantly, this bird shows extensive white on the outer rectrices. Many photos.
