In this photo, the bird is facing away from the camera and looking back over its right shoulder, so we see the upperparts and some of the uppertail, as well as the white patch above the bill
Observation details
Adult, likely the same individual that was here at this exact site last winter (photos from March 2025: https://ebird.org/checklist/S216663767). Very dark overall, a little white patch above the bill, uppertail washed light grey with a thick dark terminal band. Will add some photos. Jim will add a flight photo. Bird is on private property - please make sure all viewing is from the public road only.
