Observation details

First-year male, first seen previous day (12/1/25). Face, throat, and upper breast yellow, richest (orangey) on upper throat, auriculars, and supraloral; upper breast plain yellow, giving way to pale grayish on lower breast and white on belly. Black eyeline, pencil-thin, behind eye; in front of eye, lores solid back; small black chin-patch. Vague yellow supercilium due to contrast of darker olive crown. Back gray, tinged olive, from nape to rump, with slight suggestion of dusky streaking. Tail dusky olive with some yellow. Bill dark bluish gray above, pale whitish-gray below. Greater coverts, secondaries, and primaries all strongly patterned with dark gray-brown centers and white margins; median coverts with bold white tips forming a strong upper wingbar that was slightly invaded by inconspicuous dark "points", not as dark and obvious as the "teeth" one might expect on Bullock's.
