Observation details
Scope view and exact count. Higher number than has been around, but not totally unusual for this location. A little smaller than Herring Gull, larger than Ring-billed Gull. Black wings and back in adults. Smudgy on head/neck and around eye. Some younger ones present too. They were mixed in with around 4300 Ring-billed Gulls in the area between 119th, Cullen Park, Grassy Island, the shipping channel sandbars, and Dry Tree Point. There were about 6 more at great distance with heat shimmer, probably Lesser Black-backed. Not seeing a way to enter them as a "Great/Lesser" Black-backed.
