Media notes

I heard this chipping in an area to the east of the Mission Bay building. It sounded like the chips on Merlin explore as well as on iBird and Sibley (alarm chips). I don't take Merlin suggested IDs as gospel, but KEWA did come up for these chips. My knowledge of this species is limited to one other bird 11 years ago, so I will be more than glad to defer to experts if these are not KEWA. I amplified the sound and removed as much of the background sound and talking as I could using Raven.

Observation details

Continuing bird. I found it foraging around 0925ish on the ground to the west of the door to the Mission Bay room, which is across the street from the lobby. - approximately here 32.7750079, -117.2398529. I called to the others who were able to see it as well - Rob, Eve, Gary, and a nice man in a blue sweatshirt! Mostly on the ground or low in bushes although it flew into a tree to the west of the lobby twice. The last time it flew, we lost it. Bright yellow underparts and supercilium; olive uppers; blackish crown; black mask. See the notes I included for the sound recording below.
