Nocturnal Survey: TFGroup2 Start: 7.10pm The male was on the nest facing 335°NW, aware of surrounds and looking around. One chick was facing 30°NE; the second chick was facing 300°NW. No sighting of the third chick. The female was in another tree approximately 5.0 metres NW of the nest tree, facing 328°NW; aware of surrounds and looking around. 7.18pm: the male flew off the nest landing in a tree approximately 15 metres south-west of the nest tree. 7.19pm: the female left her daytime perch to fly into the same tree as the male, approximately 18 metres from her daytime roost tree. 7.24pm: the male flew off in a southerly direction across a pond of water approximately 100 metres from the nest. The female flew off in a south-westerly direction a few minutes after. 7.30pm: the male returned to the nest from the south with food. After feeding a chick, he flew off in the same southerly direction as earlier. 7.38pm: the male returned to the nest from the south with food and fed a chick, he flew off back in the same southerly direction. 7.41pm: the male returned to the nest from the south with food and fed a chick, then flew off back in the same southerly direction. 7.43pm: the female returned to the nest with food from the north-west. After feeding a chick, she flew off heading back towards north-west. 7.44pm: the male returned to the nest from the south with food. After feeding a chick, he headed off back south. 7.55pm: the male returned to the nest from the south. After feeding a chick, he left the nest flying off in a south-west direction. The chicks were shuffling around on the nest. Neither male nor female returned to the nest before the end of the survey.
