Observation details
Continuing Sam Manning find! Dark brown (black in this drab light) dabbling duck, similar in size to Mallard with a more grayish neck and cheek, and no white on the wings or tail. I think the pictured bird is the female, with a more olive bill. I may have seen the male as well, but he really enjoyed staring at the far shore before being flushed by a Harrier.
