Observation details
Unbelievable. After a day of crazy winds with on and off snow and rain I heard an unusual call in my yard and saw a medium sized passerine, just smaller than an American Robin, with a reddish belly and wagging tail perched in a Manitoba Maple by the garage. Ran to grab my bins and saw a dark capped bird with black tail and grey breast fading to a pinkish belly. Nice male Say’s Phoebe. Heckuva yard bird. Hanging out of the wind at the barn and by the house scouring any insects that may be hanging around. Looks like it’s going to roost at the old hydro input to the barn.
