Observation details
I saw two large groups of snow geese fly over the bike path at Glen Ebon close to the apocalyptic area heading due west both times. It was about 25 minutes in between seeing the first flock, just north of the apocalyptic area and the second flock just south of the apocalyptic area. I got pictures with my phone and all of the birds are the same size and shape. I estimated 330 snow geese but I got a close count of the second group using pictures I took with my phone. The second group I heard coming before I could see them. The first recording is of the first group that flew over and the second recording is the second group and you can hear just a few at first as they’re coming towards me and then it gets noisier as they flew overhead. Both were flying in more than one messy V to U shaped flocks. I will add pictures of them at a distance from my iPhone to show the numbers. Each picture only shows about 1/3 of the group which is what I could see at once.
