Observation details
I went over to Santa Cruz Island with Island Packers tour group had a few hours to bird. hiked in toward the interior of the island about one half mile and took a trail to the left that was unmarked. It was on that trail that I had the two Island Scrub-Jays, making noise and letting me know that they were there. The black cheek patch against the dark blue of the head was very striking.
