Observation details
Pair, paddling slowly across lake around the spillway and over to Commodore Park. First Gadwall I have seen at Lake Wildwood in 9 years here. They came closest to shore at the beach by Commodore Park and foraged on the algae and weed growing on the swim-area boundary ropes. Pretty sure they came this close to shore only because there was a Common Merganser on the beach, giving them a sense of security. I sat in the cold and waited them out. Score!
