Observation details
Found a few days ago, and relocated in the same area: the fenced in special event area that is just south of the largest lake in the park. Associating with Yellow-rumpeds at times, but later seen alone feeding along the lake shore just outside of the fenced area. A stocky warbler with bold wingbars, canary-yellow head and nape and peach/apricot flanks. Periodically giving a Yellow Warbler-like "zeep" call, which made tracking the bird easier. Recordings can be heard here: http://oldbird.org/pubs/fcmb/species/warblers/bbwa/babwny_1.wav and http://oldbird.org/pubs/fcmb/pages/zeep.htm It may be that the bird is feeding on the ground when temperatures are cooler in the early morning before ascending into taller trees as insect activity picks up throughout the day.
