Observation details
Continuing rarity. It was foraging in the wrack at the southwest end of Crescent Beach. Occasionally it would sally about above the wrack (less than 40 feet in the air) and settle back down or fly to a perch on the trees on either side of the closest house at the edge of the beach. Classic Tyrannus flycatcher by shape and behavior. Modest-sized dark bill for the Genus. Gray-headed and gray-chested; pale, whitish chin and throat; olive back; brownish wings with pale edges to the flight feathers and coverts; dark, blackish tail showed white outer edges; yellow-bellied; dark legs. I did not hear it vocalize at all.
