Observation details
Continuing. What an awesome bird! I drove in from E 600 North St and the sapsucker was favoring two conifers on the north end of the cemetery. It eventually flew off into the conifers behind the tan house that Esther described. Red only on the crown, very messy and creamy back as opposed to the the two main stripes on RNSA, and complete border (although it is not as clean and striking as I would’ve liked due to the messy cream feathers). I also compared this individual with Jeff’s photos and I think there’s a high chance that this is the same bird. Digiscopes (the back photo is poor quality but the general pattern is still distinguishable… I hope) Thank you Jeff and Esther for relocating and confirming! Thank you also to Holden for finding it initially!
