Observation details
Continuing female found by Steve Tucker. It was far out > 200-300m when I arrived around 8:10am, but eventually swam in around 10am with the scoters to forage in shallow water for more than 30 minutes. It possibly favors low/high tides when the sand crabs are most active. It is a brown sea duck but not as cinnamon (as often depicted) in the lighting today. The feathers on its head and neck/nape are quite special.
