Observation details
Unexpected and exciting lifer. Seen at around 12:30 between markers 12 and 13. First noticed in the sky as a raptor, upon closer inspection clearly a SEOW. Flew high over road from left then stayed on the right flying lower. Circled close to road then flew to far tree line, mobbed by starlings. Flew low to the grass then pounced, but quickly came back up. Clashed briefly with northern harrier. Traveled closer to and further up road and landed in the grass. Waited but did not show again. Noted buffy wing patches, darker brown chest, dark wing tips, classic SEOW facial pattern, yellow eyes, and tiny ear tufts.
