Observation details
These two were "doing a dance' around the tree. At first, we thought it was some form of pair bonding, but they appear to both be male. They were working around the trunk; almost like a game of "hide-and-seek". There was the occasional wing display but was primarily just hopping in woodpecker fashion: mostly round-and-round but a some ‘up-and-down”. It did not appear to be aggressive behavior. More like "fun". Maybe father and son practicing the “Woodpecker Shuffle”???
