Observation details

Initially heard and obtained a recording. Playback was used and It flew out from cover, perched and the photo was taken. Crest is raised, likely indicating an agitated behaviour response to the playback. Much duller, and grayer overall and less contrasting features than expected of a “bright” CCSP for this date, particularly between auriculars - supercilium and auriculars - malar, light brown tones behind the auriculars towards the nape with no indication of a gray collar that would be expected and defined on a CCSP, facial features are well lit in the sun.
