Observation details

Bird found by Jon Dunn. It was about the same size as a WEGR. The back was dark with white spots. It had a white stripe along the water line (from breast to tail). The head and back of neck were gray, while the face showed a lot of white. In the direct sun light it showed a few iridescent red feathers in the upper neck. It held its head in a way to make the bill appear upturned. It showed no chin strap line or half-collar marks on the neck.
