Observation details
Heard calling between pair. Saw bright orange male foraging in Koa leaves. Later saw a juvenile male foraging in ‘Ōhi‘a; it seemed to associate with flock containing ‘Alawī and Hawai‘i ‘Amakihi. No vocalizations. Photos taken. Another orange male heard calling and singing in ‘Ōhi‘a. Photos taken.
