Observation details
Continuing from a few weeks ago, or possibly a different individual. On previous visits, Merlin would pick up the call, but because I could not get eyes on it, I assumed it was an error and did not include it on my list. I kept looking for this bird every time I come here and finally got it today. Upper park was crowded for an event so I went to the lower park, far west side where there is a water containment basin surrounded by a chain link fence. It was foraging on the ground by the bushes until it flew into the pink flowering eucalyptus tree and disappeared. Mostly brownish olive above, yellow under tail coverts, rusty brown stripe on head, dark eye line.Constantly bobbing its tail. When it flew it had small patches of white on the corners of its tail. Bad iPhone photo attached.
