Observation details
Adult and juvenile. An unwanted addition to our yard list. First eBird county record for Lamar County, and only the second eBird MS record away from gulf coast counties and Pearl River County, the other being in Laurel, Jones County in 2023. Small estrildid finch; adult with dark brown face and scaled underparts; juvenile plain lighter brown; record photos taken through the window. Brief appearance at feeders and as of 10:30 had not been seen again.
