Observation details
Observed a flycatcher from a long distance via scope. Pale gray above, pale cinnamon belly & undertail coverts, pale gray throat & upper breast. Long, all black tail distinctive compared to a nearby Eastern Phoebe (grayer tail) -- also, the Eastern Phoebe was pale yellow below (not cinnamon). Observed in Agro-Ecology area on Mid Pines Road. As it foraged for flying insects, the bird flew in and around the uncovered green house frame, frequently perching on parts of that structure. Tail wagging also observed. Several birders used my and other scopes to view the bird. Originally found 5 days ago by Michelle Forte and, later, by a pair of birders this morning. Photos to come.
