Observation details

Walking along area where several were seen earlier - spotted 1 then 3 others in the same location - about 300 yards or so (south of highway) on the west side of the road in a mix of pine, deciduous trees and berries - 1 male; 3 female/imm types - stocky finch with white wing bars (1 pinkish bodied, 1 dark yellow cap) and quite gregarious - seen hanging upside down at times. Media: challenging light and audio - the recording snagged 1 call at the 11 second interval
