Observation details

First identified by Ingrid near our kitchen feeding stations.  Reacquired about 15 minutes later in the front yard by following drumming.  Observed off and on for next 90 minutes with Jeff and Mael as it moved through our pines and hemlocks. Female (no yellow crown), Short tail, long bill, black back and head (with white stripe from bill to cheek).  Heavy barring on flanks.  White chest. Chased by Hairy and Pileated Woodpeckers as well as Bluebirds. If you'd like to try and see the bird (it appears and disappears), please contact Ethan by text 207-671-2006.  Not visible from road.
