Observation details

Alex Burchard find. Resting bird. Some photos show eye closed. Drifted on a rather calm day. Before a number of birders arrived a fishing boat came near and scattered several hundred other birds but the eider stayed put. Later reports had the bird making its way to the east a few hundred yards. Bird had drab coloration except for a little twinge of light color on the end of the beak.
