Observation details

Continuing. First spotted yesterday by Roy Morris. Thinner neck and bill than the accompanying Common Loon. Bill tends to tilt upward. Smaller than the Common Loon. Seen south of the pier area. Swimming with a Common Loon. Windy day, so water was rough and had many whitecaps. Loons drifted far out at times. They did a lot of diving. Attached photos were taken with low light from overcast skies, at a good distance, and with winds causing some camera shake. One photo shows them together. In this picture, the red-throated loon is on the right.
