Observation details

Unexpected; brief unsatisfactory look at kingbird with dark mask, wide relatively large dark bill, white throat, pale grayish breast, didn't notice any yellow on belly when viewing but faint yellow apparent in photo, my initial gestalt impression was that this was a gray kingbird so I'm sticking with that, the very narrow white edging on outer tail feathers had led me to consider WEKI previously; disappeared after I snapped a couple of photos. Perched in top of shrub on toe of the dike within first half mile of the impoundment on the east levee.
