Observation details

Continuing amazing bird originally found by Craig Tumer, and refound by Kyle Landstra yesterday. Couldn’t pick it out from all the DCCO perched across the river, but for some reason they all flushed at once, leaving one bird that turned out to be the booby. It eventually put on quite a show, flying big circles above the river and settling onto the surface quite close to us, but no diving. It was involved in a gull scrum around a rolling sea lion, so may have got some scraps from that. No obvious sign of injury from its tussle with the BAEA yesterday. Photo.
