Observation details

Seen sporadically this month. This bird was seen soaring south of the Pintail Lakes, moving quickly south as I tried for pictures. Photos, though pretty distant, show raptor with paddle-shaped wings, long light and dark barred tail, with a deep, rusty orange throat and a hint of the same color on the back of the wings, indicating an adult female.
